Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
Rezona ("Rezona," "the App," "we," "us," or "our") is an AI voice companion app operated by Ascent Labs, based in India. Rezona lets you have spoken conversations with AI companions ("personas").
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used and shared, how long it is kept, and the choices and rights you have. Rezona is intended only for adults aged 18 and over. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Privacy at a glance
- No account required. You can use Rezona without signing up, logging in, or giving us an email.
- Your conversations stay on your device. Your chat history and settings are stored only on your phone. We do not keep a copy of your conversations on our servers.
- Your voice is processed in the cloud to work. When you speak, your audio and the resulting text are sent to our backend and to trusted third-party AI providers to transcribe your speech, generate a reply, and turn that reply into speech. This is the core function of a voice app.
- No advertising, no tracking, no selling your data.
- Your data is never used to train AI models.
- You're in control. Delete all conversations any time in the App; uninstalling removes all locally stored data.
3. Information we collect
We practice data minimization and collect only what the App needs to function.
3.1 Information you provide
- Profile details: an optional name and age you may enter in Settings. These are stored only on your device and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
3.2 Voice and conversation content
- Voice recordings: when you hold the push-to-talk button and speak, the App records a short audio clip.
- Transcripts and replies: that audio is converted to text, used to generate the persona's response, and the response is converted back into speech.
- This voice audio and the associated text are transmitted to our backend and to the third-party AI providers in Section 6 for real-time processing. See Sections 6 and 7 for retention.
3.3 Information collected automatically
- Connection data: to deliver the service, our servers necessarily process basic network information such as your IP address and general device/OS information for the duration of a request. We use this only to operate and secure the service, never to build a profile of you or track you across apps or websites.
- Microphone access: requested solely to record your push-to-talk audio. If denied, voice features will not work, but the rest of the App remains usable where possible.
3.4 What we do NOT collect
We do not collect or request account credentials, email addresses, contacts, precise location, photos, advertising identifiers (IDFA), or any data for advertising or cross-app tracking. Rezona uses no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
4. How we use your information
We use the information above only to:
- transcribe your spoken input (speech-to-text), generate the persona's reply (language model), and synthesize it into speech (text-to-speech);
- keep your conversation on your device so you can resume it;
- personalize the experience using the name/age you optionally provide (processed on-device);
- operate, secure, debug, and prevent abuse of the service.
We do not use your information for advertising, cross-app tracking, or to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model. We do not sell your personal information.
5. On-device storage and your control
- Your conversation history and settings (name, age) are stored only in the App's local storage on your device.
- Our backend is a stateless processor: it routes your request through the AI providers and returns the result. It does not maintain a per-user store of your conversations.
- You can delete all conversation history at any time via Settings → Delete all chat history.
- Uninstalling the App permanently removes all locally stored data from your device.
6. Third-party AI service providers (sub-processors)
To function, Rezona sends your voice audio and/or text to the following providers, each acting as our processor. We require these providers to protect your data to a standard at least equivalent to this Policy and as required by applicable law.
Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service — receives your voice audio (for transcription) and conversation text, to perform speech-to-text and generate the AI reply. Microsoft does not use prompts or completions to train models. For abuse monitoring, a sampled subset of content may be retained for up to 30 days within the configured Azure region, accessible only to authorized reviewers under strict controls, then deleted.
ElevenLabs and/or Fish Audio — receive the text of the AI reply (and the selected voice) to perform text-to-speech. Their handling is governed by their own privacy policies and our agreements with them; we do not permit use of your content to train models where that option is available to us.

We may update this list as the App evolves; material changes will be reflected here.
7. Data retention and deletion
- On your device: retained until you delete it in the App or uninstall the App.
- Our backend: does not persist your conversation content beyond the moment needed to process a request.
- AI providers: retain data only transiently for processing, except that Azure OpenAI may retain a sampled subset for up to 30 days for security and abuse-monitoring purposes, after which it is deleted. None of this content is used to train AI models.
To ask about retention or request deletion of any data we or our processors may briefly hold, contact support@ascentlabs.in.
8. Data sharing and disclosure
We share your information only with the AI providers in Section 6 (strictly to provide the App's features); if required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request; or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or our service.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising or cross-app tracking.
9. Age requirement
Rezona is intended only for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed to, and may not be used by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has used the App, contact support@ascentlabs.in and we will take appropriate steps, including deletion of any associated data where applicable.
10. Your privacy rights
Because Rezona stores your conversations and settings on your device, you can exercise most rights directly: view your data in the App and delete all of it via Settings → Delete all chat history, or by uninstalling.
- EEA / UK (GDPR / UK GDPR): rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, and data portability. Our legal basis is performing the service you request and our legitimate interest in operating and securing it.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): rights to know, delete, and correct — note we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- India (DPDP Act): rights to access, correction, and erasure, and to grievance redressal.

11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/secure WebSocket), on-device storage of your conversations and settings, and operating without user accounts or stored credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. International data transfers
To provide the service, your voice audio and text may be processed on servers operated by us and our AI providers, which may be located outside your country, including in East US (Azure) and the regions used by our text-to-speech providers. Where required, such transfers are carried out under appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses).
13. A note on voice data
We use your voice recordings solely to transcribe what you say and generate a spoken reply for that conversation. We do not use your voice to create a voiceprint, to identify you biometrically, or for any purpose other than providing the conversation you requested.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the App evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
